NASA Debris To Fall To Earth Soon:
Washington, DC

Maybe we need to drive around in one of the old Army tanks like the one shown above for the next couple of weeks!

To quote a famous little bird:

Chicken Little said, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"

Sorta true... a school bus-sized hunk of extinct space satellite will fall to Earth on or about 23 SEP 2011... while breaking into about 26 firy chunks of metal.

NASA reassures us that the odds of some debris hitting a person on the ground are about 3,200-to-1... about the same as some little lotto drawing wins... and nobody ever wins those, right ?

So, keep your heads down and your eyes open... and go check out that Army tank just in case.

Hillary Gets A Favorable Polling:

Uh-Oh... last week's Bloomberg Poll shows Hillary Clinton, the current Secretary of State for Obama, received a nearly 65% favorable rating in general.

This is up quite a bit from last year's poll rating of about 50% favorable rating.

With President Obama's approval ratings at about 45% (and declining), he better watch his Democratic back.

You never know when the DNC just might want to work a history-making "trade-in"...
trade in the first Black President and pick up the first Woman President !

U.S. Postal Service Has Troubles:
Washington, DC

With stamped mail volume and sales down by nearly 36% in the past 5 years, the US Postal Service is facing default.

They are at or near their borrowing ceiling limit... and they have a giant bill payment due in a few weeks... that they can't make the payment on.

The USPS is facing the closure of hundreds of facilities, the reduction in days of delivery, and the slashing of up to 35,000 postal employees.

Of course, the Unions and the Democrats are screaming for Federal "Bailout" money... while Republicans are telling the USPS to trim down and cut costs to make their payment obligations.

I say... the USPS (and all government agencies) need to start running their offices like we have to run our home budgets... with our spending (outflow) being less than our income (inflow)!

Then, maybe... we might look at a temporary, small scale bailout... but not till cuts take place.

NYC Ballot Screw Up For Soldiers Overseas:
New York, NY

NOT AGAIN!?!

Why can't the great liberal, Democratic State of New York get their crap together...

at least enough to ensure that our valiant servicemen overseas get their Constitutionally protected right to vote in our elections back home in the U.S.?

The real emphasis, with only 21 days left till the election, should be to 1) get the absentee ballots in the hands of those service members ASAP, and most importantly, 2) that their completed ballots are collected, protected, AND counted in this election's results.

If I had to guess... I would say the Democrats are foot-dragging because they feel the military does NOT usually vote Democrat and especially with the anti-military-leaning Dems in control of the Congressional pursestrings... and the Dems' sluggish misdirection of the war efforts in Afghanistan.

Let the generals make the war plans... then let them work their war plans... while Congress supports those war plans with necessary troops and funding.

In other words, join to support the ranks and follow them... or get the hell out of their way so they can win this war and bring our troops home sooner rather than later!!!

BUT... first things first... let their votes count and be heard in the 2 Nov 2010 election!

China Buys Into Stake of South Texas Oil and Gas:

What is our 'brilliant' government thinking?

Are we so desperate for money that we are agreeing to sell stakes of our strategic American supply of oil and natural gas to the communist Chinese?

They are buying a one-third stake into drilling the huge Chesapeake Energy holdings in south Texas... and there is no government or public uproar?

How many oil or natural gas drilling rigs do U.S. companies have in mainland China?
None, I bet.

How many copper, silver, or uranium mines do U.S. companies have in mainland China?
None, I bet.

So WHY the hell is a communist, competitive country like China being allowed to come into our country and literally suck our own American crude oil and natural gas out from under our feet???

This is unbelievable to me.

Maybe it's a sign of our rough, economic times...

or maybe a sign, we need jobs so badly, that Americans will sell the very soul of our strategic assets to get more jobs...

nah, I think it's a sign of the President Obama agenda to socialize, weaken, and sellout America to his highest bidders... communist or otherwise!

This is the beginning of a slippery-slope we may come to regret in the long run!!!

Hillary Is Sitting This Election Out:
Somewhere on the other side of the world

Oooooh, she is a sly one.

Hillary is laying low on the other side of the globe... and acting kinda like a Secretary of State during this mudslinging and often 'bloody and bruising' midterm election season.

By laying low she dodges all the arrows, barbs and mudpies being thrown around D.C. and across the country.

This 'nose to the grindstone' blinder approach also protects her mostly-positive 'favorability rating' among voters... which could pay dividends if she runs with Obama as V.P. (or even against a vulnerable Obama in 2012 for the Presidential nomination).

Now, Hillary being overseas doesn't stop good ol' Bill Clinton from helping sling some mud and manure out on the campaign trails for his beloved Democrats. He loves it... he gets to be in the limelight again... he gets to bash Republicans... and all the while, scouting the crowds for nice, compassionate intern-wannabees.

We'll get a taste of what Hillary has on her mind when the devastation is over in November.

Just maybe she has visions of swooping in like a modern day Joan-of-Arc to resurrect the Democratic Party after Obama's control of both houses of Congress is shattered.

I can't wait to see how she plays her hand of cards she's been holding over Obama!

Stock markets around the world flew upward like crazy today! It seems the thought of a world-wide plan/agreement this past weekend set some investors' minds at ease.

I don't know yet, though...

Is this really a sign of the "bottom" or is today just another day of speculators "betting" on a huge swing and being right for a change. If that latter is the case, then selloffs (and a further, lower bottom) will occur when the speculators take their huge profits.

I think I'll wait and see for a few more days before I jump back in and buy much more stock.

You might want to be a little cautious yourself, too !

What ever plays to the crowd and makes a media splash headline or two, I suppose!

Jimmy Carter, one of the worst and weakest Presidents in our history... a one-termer at that... has the nerve to stand up and throw stones at some other President's economic policies!

Carter governed over us when there was double-digit inflation, double-digit mortgage rates, heating fuel crises, long gasoline fillup lines, and the infamous 444-day long Iranian hostage mess (that Reagan had to clean up).

I just stop listening as soon as I hear the words "Jimmy Carter says..."
He has become an ill-tempered, extremely Democrat-biased, and all around rude individual that should show more public decorum and restraint when discussing the policies and decisions of sitting Presidents.

He needs to go back to building the charity homes (Habitat For Humanity) and try to salvage some shreds of a legasy and respect for his brief time in the Presidency.

We are shaping up for a BIG MESS come election day if more of these allegations and investigations turn out to be mostly true! This developing scandal and predicament could rattle the very supports of our free-election system in America!

If these fraudulent and felonious actions are substantiated, it could cause EVERY STATE to question the authenticity of all registered voters.

IF we thought the drawn-out, time consuming, agitating, divisive, nerve-wracking fiasco of the "Hanging Chads" was intolerable...

JUST WAIT till EVERY voter --- in EVERY county --- in EVERY state has to be meticulously, systematically verified (then double-verified) by official documentation before the vote can be counted !!!

The political and legal challenges to the 2000 Bush/Gore election will look like a stroll through Mr. Roger's Neighborhood... compared to the nation-wide uproar we will face if this ACORN and Obama campaign "mass-registration" stuff turns out to be illegal and fraudulent.

Well, that makes 3 States... California, Massachusetts, and Connecticut... that are giving their gay residents the "right" to get married. So be it.

Although the vast majority of residents in those States do not agree with "gay Marriage"... the court justices have taken it upon themselves to legislate new "laws" from their court benches.

Legislators beware... you are losing control of the Judicial branch.
When voters say "no"... BUT the judges override them with "yes"... look out for the further decline of our American morals.
