Hey, in case you missed it... President Obama got to go golfing again yesterday !

I'm sure he and his golfing buddy... former-Presidential golfer Bill Clinton... were deep in discussion between shots on the numerous ways he can say he will "create and save" millions more American jobs and get us out of this recession !!!

Yeah, right !

If the previous 23 times this year, nor the previous 81 times out golfing since he became Prez, haven't inspired Obama with dozens of successful solutions...

I just don't see how his next 82 times out golfing will help us either !!!

Solar Decathlon At The National Mall

Well, let's see... it's pouring down rain for this collegiate "solar decathlon" sponsored by the Department of Energy... so there is not much generation going on (except maybe a whole lot of hot air being produced by students touting big promises of the near-future" lifetime of "possibly" FREE ENERGY... for a huge initial outlay, of course).

It was very expensive too, for the many colleges to build and send their model "houses" and student teams to D.C. for this "solar decathlon"...

BUT... never fear... "big daddy" (Dept. of Energy) with the deep taxpayer pockets has most graciously given each college that attended a "free" grant of $100,000 of our tax monies... just for stopping by.

I can't wait to see what earth-changing discoveries come out of this 1, 2, 3 or whatever-million dollar "decathlon" project !

Rallyin' The Congressional Black Caucus

President Obama was in his element yesterday when he was rallyin' more of his "troops"... his staunchest supporters... at the Congressional Black Caucus in D.C.

He got them all fired up with his rhetoric...
especially when it turned from his usual Harvard loftiness...

to some sort of half-southern, half-from da neighborhood, and half-good ol' boy talk...

where President Obama urged his followers to "stop cryin' ", "stop grumblin' " and "stop complainin' "... and go "put on your marching shoes" to follow him into battle for jobs and opportunity.

He even threw in a few well placed "y'alls" just for good measure.

He will need their undying support come election time... so he needs to re-convince them that he is REALLY just like one-of-them (all the regular, little folks of anytown America).

It's not working yet... but it still might !

Maybe a few more "good ol' boy" speeches will do the trick... eh ?

Jail Cell or Church Pew... Their Choice !

It used to be "Do you want to join the Army... or do you want to go to Jail ?"

Now a southern Alabama judge is giving misdemeanor offenders in his district a clear choice, too:

"Do you want to go to Church... or do you want to go to Jail ?"

A clever twist on sentencing that allows the offender to have his/her charges dropped completely if he/she chooses the church option for 52 Sundays in a row !

Locally 56 churches have gained "parishioners" and it is actually changing the perspectives and lives of many of those enforced attendees.

"BRAVO", I say...
another American judge with values, guts, and some initiative for the good of all !!!

NASA Debris To Fall To Earth Soon:

Maybe we need to drive around in one of the old Army tanks like the one shown above for the next couple of weeks!

To quote a famous little bird:

Chicken Little said, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"

Sorta true... a school bus-sized hunk of extinct space satellite will fall to Earth on or about 23 SEP 2011... while breaking into about 26 firy chunks of metal.

NASA reassures us that the odds of some debris hitting a person on the ground are about 3,200-to-1... about the same as some little lotto drawing wins... and nobody ever wins those, right ?

So, keep your heads down and your eyes open... and go check out that Army tank just in case.

Hillary Gets A Favorable Polling:

Uh-Oh... last week's Bloomberg Poll shows Hillary Clinton, the current Secretary of State for Obama, received a nearly 65% favorable rating in general.

This is up quite a bit from last year's poll rating of about 50% favorable rating.

With President Obama's approval ratings at about 45% (and declining), he better watch his Democratic back.

You never know when the DNC just might want to work a history-making "trade-in"...
trade in the first Black President and pick up the first Woman President !

U.S. Postal Service Has Troubles:

With stamped mail volume and sales down by nearly 36% in the past 5 years, the US Postal Service is facing default.

They are at or near their borrowing ceiling limit... and they have a giant bill payment due in a few weeks... that they can't make the payment on.

The USPS is facing the closure of hundreds of facilities, the reduction in days of delivery, and the slashing of up to 35,000 postal employees.

Of course, the Unions and the Democrats are screaming for Federal "Bailout" money... while Republicans are telling the USPS to trim down and cut costs to make their payment obligations.

I say... the USPS (and all government agencies) need to start running their offices like we have to run our home budgets... with our spending (outflow) being less than our income (inflow)!

Then, maybe... we might look at a temporary, small scale bailout... but not till cuts take place.

Congressional Staffers Make Big Gains On 'Green' Stock Bets:

Well, isn't that just peachy keen!
It doesn't sound like much of a risky business bet to me either.

I guess all it takes is a savvy Congressional staffer to lay out a pile of cash to bet on the stock of what ever companies their Congressman or Senator boss is supporting legislation for... and Presto... the stock price magically goes UP!!!

Wow, that's a nice 'insider' gig if you can get it.

Too bad the Congressmen and their staffers don't let us little guys in on what companies they will push for... we might be able to magically double our money in a short time, too!

These staffers are apparently just 'bigger crook wannabees'... give them a little more time and practice and maybe they'll be right up there with their bosses... eh, Senator Harry Reid?

Is there going to be any 'fire' behind these 'smoking hot' girls' allegations of steamy lewd photos and masseuse seductions?

Brett has apologized to his teammates for the distraction this scandal is causing in the media... but he hasn't quite fully and straight-forwardly come out and denied all the accusations yet either!

Just like Tiger Woods' deep fall from grace with the sporting public... you hate to see an icon and heroic football role model suffer the same fate.

BUT... IF it turns out to be all or mostly true... come on guys ---
can't you just leave your pants on and go hire a DISCREET bombshell hooker for a $1,000-per-night fling to get it out of your system???

A Michelangelo Found Behind A Couch:

I must be living wrong... or my Karma is against me... all I find behind my couch are candy wrappers, dust bunnies and the TV remote!

Kudos and congrats to that family! They were literally sitting on (or beside) an original, unfinished Michelangelo painting of the Pieta, a Madonna with Jesus painting... valued at possibly 300 million dollars!!!

It hung on the family wall for many years until hit by a tennis ball as family kids played inside. They wrapped it up and sorta forgot about it behind the couch.

Recent inquiries and professional evaluations are pretty much declaring this to be a "lost Pieta" done by Michelangelo in 1545!

Wowza... what a way to end the 2010 year for that family!
(Maybe it's not too late for them to adopt me.)

Senior Citizens Get No Social Security Raise in 2010, AGAIN:

Lookout Democrats... and the rest of you in Congress on all sides of the aisle!

You have just pissed off 58 million Senior Citizens by NOT giving any social security income increase for a second year in a row!!!

It's not nice to poke this sleeping giant of the gray-haired demographic.

Many of them live only on that monthly paycheck... and all other costs seem to continue going up in price: food, housing, gasoline, insurances, and on and on!

It seems Congress can certainly find a way to get their own big, annual 'automatic' pay raises... why couldn't they squeeze out (or use a 'bail out' for) a measly 1 or 2 percent increase in social security?

They (our beloved Congressmen and Senators) throw away, donate, waste and/or spend billions of dollars for thousands of earmark projects.

WHY NOT spend some money on these 58 million needy Americans who helped build and keep America the greatest country in the World???

Ouch, my portfolio just took a body blow today of over $2,500 down... at least it's only on paper so far. It's down too much for me to sell out now. I'm like almost everybody else and will just have to dollar-cost-average my future stock buy-ins and wait it out till prices creep back up.

The whole world's markets are taking a strong hit in the nose with this "bailout" uncertainty and fallout.

What a "great" job our U.S. Congress has done these past few years watching & helping all those predatory lender companies and unqualified mortgage recipients get giant loans they had no ability (and maybe no intention) to pay back.

Bravo, Congressmen, Bravo!
I'll be sure to vote you guys back in office come next election... NOT !!!

Obama Youth - Junior Fraternity Regiment

Look out... the Obama Youth Junior Fraternity Regiment is coming our way! This is only a group of 10 Black teenage boys in a Kansas City public school, afterschool program... but... how many more of these little "groups" are out there in inner cities across the U.S. swearing an oath of allegience to their mentor and leader Sen. Barack Obama?

It might initially be seen as a group of minority youth espousing their admiration for their larger-than-life inspiration (Sen. Obama)... but... the "uniforms" of battle dress army camouflage pants, black t-shirts and combat boots are quite disturbing. Their fists-clenched together "salute" as they give their individual "because of Obama" chants is not a German "Sieg Heil", but it also isn't a mild Boy Scout hand salute either.

Is this just a community organizer-type event or the growing seeds of minority groups in lockstep, who have sworn allegience to one great inspirational "leader"? Where is the teacher or local organizer responsible for the "guidance" or teachings of these teenagers?

I know it is a far cry and big leap from the 1930's Germany (the Brown Shirt youth), 1940's Russia (Stalin's KGB), or even 1960's Cuba (Fidel and his boys)... but... innocent groups sometimes get blinded and misled and before you know it there are small groups like the Black Panthers, Weathermen Underground, Hell's Angels or Simbianese Liberation Army.

I'm NOT saying in any way, shape, or form that this is a sprouting radical group, but... Don't ever say it just can't happen here to us in our good old U.S. of A.

Wow, Gov. Palin has sunk her 'pit bull" teeth in and is not letting up! She is putting the bite on the Sen. Obama campaign by getting the topics of William "bomber" Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright out in the open where they ought to be. These shady associations need further discussion and the broad American public deserves to be informed of Sen. Obama's mentors.

These continued, weekend accusations heated up the campaign rhetoric Monday and now Obama's camp is dropping threats out there that if McCain doesn't call off his "attack dog" (Gov. Palin) he (Obama) will bring up the Keating 5 scandal from McCain's past.

This should make for a bare-knuckle discussion at tomorrow night's Presidential debate... it just depends how the topics are broached and who gets the first (and most memorable) right-cross in there to his opponent.

No light jabs will do for tomorrow night... some knock down blows are called for and need to be delivered whenever an opening is given! No more pussy-footing around the "sensitive" subjects... just Go Get Him! This could finally get interesting.

Sickening ! An American-born guy turned Al Quaida member is trying to claim our U.S. economic crisis is because they have bled us infidels too much in Iraq and Afghanistan... Bullcrap! Our own Congressmen are the ones financially bleeding us over here.

As for the former American (now Al Quaida) traitor, he can go take a flying leap off a big cliff... maybe with a little helpful American nudge to get him going.

I just watched today the History Channel broadcast of "102 Minutes That Changed America". Disgusting, depressing, and especially infuriating!

I would recommend that this film... graphic as it is... be watched at least twice a year by every patriotic American.

There would be no further questions about supporting our troops, or why we are over there and why these crazy, cowardly, Al Quaida zealots need to be fought in every location around the world in which they hide.
