Hey, in case you missed it... President Obama got to go golfing again yesterday !

I'm sure he and his golfing buddy... former-Presidential golfer Bill Clinton... were deep in discussion between shots on the numerous ways he can say he will "create and save" millions more American jobs and get us out of this recession !!!

Yeah, right !

If the previous 23 times this year, nor the previous 81 times out golfing since he became Prez, haven't inspired Obama with dozens of successful solutions...

I just don't see how his next 82 times out golfing will help us either !!!

Solar Decathlon At The National Mall

Well, let's see... it's pouring down rain for this collegiate "solar decathlon" sponsored by the Department of Energy... so there is not much generation going on (except maybe a whole lot of hot air being produced by students touting big promises of the near-future" lifetime of "possibly" FREE ENERGY... for a huge initial outlay, of course).

It was very expensive too, for the many colleges to build and send their model "houses" and student teams to D.C. for this "solar decathlon"...

BUT... never fear... "big daddy" (Dept. of Energy) with the deep taxpayer pockets has most graciously given each college that attended a "free" grant of $100,000 of our tax monies... just for stopping by.

I can't wait to see what earth-changing discoveries come out of this 1, 2, 3 or whatever-million dollar "decathlon" project !

Rallyin' The Congressional Black Caucus

President Obama was in his element yesterday when he was rallyin' more of his "troops"... his staunchest supporters... at the Congressional Black Caucus in D.C.

He got them all fired up with his rhetoric...
especially when it turned from his usual Harvard loftiness...

to some sort of half-southern, half-from da neighborhood, and half-good ol' boy talk...

where President Obama urged his followers to "stop cryin' ", "stop grumblin' " and "stop complainin' "... and go "put on your marching shoes" to follow him into battle for jobs and opportunity.

He even threw in a few well placed "y'alls" just for good measure.

He will need their undying support come election time... so he needs to re-convince them that he is REALLY just like one-of-them (all the regular, little folks of anytown America).

It's not working yet... but it still might !

Maybe a few more "good ol' boy" speeches will do the trick... eh ?

Now a southern Alabama judge is giving misdemeanor offenders in his district a clear choice, too:

"Do you want to go to Church... or do you want to go to Jail ?"

A clever twist on sentencing that allows the offender to have his/her charges dropped completely if he/she chooses the church option for 52 Sundays in a row !

Locally 56 churches have gained "parishioners" and it is actually changing the perspectives and lives of many of those enforced attendees.

Now this is weird... at least 165 people have vanished from luxury cruise ships worldwide... during the cruises... since 1995 !

Granted, that is only about 11 people per year... but, HEY... that's 11 people every year!!!

The report gives no answers... only speculations about falling overboard accidents, or maybe suicidal acts, or maybe even foul play as bad as pushing someone overboard.

They just don't know... still BIG unsolved mysteries !

I've been on several cruises over the years... (my favorite was the 2-week Disney Mediterranean trip)... and I can tell ya...

from now on, I'm carrying a life jacket with me at all times wherever I go on a cruise!

Down another 391 points yesterday !!!

Most countries around the world revolve around what happens in the U.S. economy... and it ain't pretty at all !

President Obama needs to get on the ball... (NO... NOT the golf ball)... and get some workable job-creating programs going in America.

He needs to stop playing golf...
stop playing at being President...
and quit pushing his job-killing "agendas" !

With Governor Perry and former Governor Romney taking most of the air time...

all the candidates were slugging it out and trying to throw verbal mud on each other in "sound bite" chunks.

I don't care what they say or said or are gonna say...

they just need to get somebody solid who will soundly DEFEAT OBAMA and his wayward, haphazard policies in 2012 !!!

NASA Debris To Fall To Earth Soon:

Maybe we need to drive around in one of the old Army tanks like the one shown above for the next couple of weeks!

To quote a famous little bird:

Chicken Little said, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"

Sorta true... a school bus-sized hunk of extinct space satellite will fall to Earth on or about 23 SEP 2011... while breaking into about 26 firy chunks of metal.

NASA reassures us that the odds of some debris hitting a person on the ground are about 3,200-to-1... about the same as some little lotto drawing wins... and nobody ever wins those, right ?

So, keep your heads down and your eyes open... and go check out that Army tank just in case.

Hillary Gets A Favorable Polling:

Uh-Oh... last week's Bloomberg Poll shows Hillary Clinton, the current Secretary of State for Obama, received a nearly 65% favorable rating in general.

This is up quite a bit from last year's poll rating of about 50% favorable rating.

With President Obama's approval ratings at about 45% (and declining), he better watch his Democratic back.

You never know when the DNC just might want to work a history-making "trade-in"...
trade in the first Black President and pick up the first Woman President !

U.S. Postal Service Has Troubles:

With stamped mail volume and sales down by nearly 36% in the past 5 years, the US Postal Service is facing default.

They are at or near their borrowing ceiling limit... and they have a giant bill payment due in a few weeks... that they can't make the payment on.

The USPS is facing the closure of hundreds of facilities, the reduction in days of delivery, and the slashing of up to 35,000 postal employees.

Of course, the Unions and the Democrats are screaming for Federal "Bailout" money... while Republicans are telling the USPS to trim down and cut costs to make their payment obligations.

I say... the USPS (and all government agencies) need to start running their offices like we have to run our home budgets... with our spending (outflow) being less than our income (inflow)!

Then, maybe... we might look at a temporary, small scale bailout... but not till cuts take place.

President Obama Going To Mumbai; Clinton Speaks At Detroit Rally; Google CEO and Street View

President and Mrs. Obama Plan Trip To Mumbai:

This is mind-boggling!

With our jobless rate sky high and our deficit at record highs...
The Presidential "First Couple" are planning to jet over and spend a few days visiting several cultural sites in Mumbai, India.

Now, maybe there are some actual good reasons for making a trip to India at this time... but at such an exorbitant cost to us taxpayers???

We are, of course, not given any specifics about the trip and lodging while there, BUT...
the general info provided, says the President, Michele, and their entire security and traveling entourage will occupy (or at least buy out) the entire 5-star, 570-room Taj Mahal Hotel for a couple nights!

Not only that, but all restaurants, banquet rooms, and conference rooms are bought out, too!

AND... 200+ rooms in a couple other nearby luxury hotels are also rented for this traveling fiasco for several more nights around the Presidential visit time frame!

Now, I'm no travel agent OR math genius OR even an accountant, but... when you start adding all these expenses up... WOW!!!

If you multiply the 570 Taj Mahal Hotel rooms times a cost of $500/night (and I'll bet these 5-star rooms are probably more in the $1,000/night range)... that equals roughly $285,000/night or $570,000 for a 2-night stay!

Then we can throw in another ballpark guess of $200,000+ for the 100-200 other hotel rooms for the security and government aides for the week...

And don't forget all the restaurants and special rooms that were fully booked for the few days, at an estimate of another $100,000+ or more!

And this MILLION DOLLARS is just for their lodging for a few nights!!!

This doesn't include all the travel costs to fly half way around the globe...
all their meals paid for at government per diem rates...
the dozens of vehicles rented for ground transportation, and so on, and so on, and so on...

All on the U.S. taxpayers "dime"!

This visit has got to be pretty darn important:
like heading off the Apocalypse...
or keeping WWIII from starting...
or receiving the final cure for Cancer from some doctor in Mumbai !!!

All I can say is, Wow, it must be nice to be a President or First Lady...
or at least a travel buddy of those two!

Bill Clinton Speaks At H.S. In Detroit:

If the bloom hasn't fallen off the flower yet... then it is at least dying on the vine!

There was a lackluster turnout at a Democratic rally in a high school gymnasium in Detroit this past weekend.

The key speaker to energize the crowd was none other than the former President and "big slugger" himself... Bill Clinton !

To illustrate the lack of enthusiasm for the Michigan Democrats, only about 500 supporters came to the rally!

Bill Clinton used to "pack them in" everywhere he went... maybe those days are finally over.

Or... maybe all the Dem supporters are just waiting until they get their chance to see the "other Clinton" come speak... when she does her next run for President in 2012!

Big Bill can only hope the glory days will come back to him then!

Google CEO, Eric Schmidt doesn't quite know how to "win friends and influence people" yet!

When asked about the privacy concerns associated with Google Street View projects around the world (especially Britain lately)...

he smarted off to an interviewer by saying that people should just move from their houses if they don't like Google putting pix of their houses on the Google program!

Google just recently apologized for "accidentally" picking up emails and computer passwords from homes in Britain... this was done with strong antennas as passing Street View vehicles gathered pictures for their programs.

It sounds pretty much like "Big Brother" is getting close!

Maybe Google needs to back off a while... and show some regard for individual privacy concerns... especially when their worries turn out to be substantiated!!!

NYC Ballot Screw Up For Soldiers Overseas:

NOT AGAIN!?!

Why can't the great liberal, Democratic State of New York get their crap together...

at least enough to ensure that our valiant servicemen overseas get their Constitutionally protected right to vote in our elections back home in the U.S.?

The real emphasis, with only 21 days left till the election, should be to 1) get the absentee ballots in the hands of those service members ASAP, and most importantly, 2) that their completed ballots are collected, protected, AND counted in this election's results.

If I had to guess... I would say the Democrats are foot-dragging because they feel the military does NOT usually vote Democrat and especially with the anti-military-leaning Dems in control of the Congressional pursestrings... and the Dems' sluggish misdirection of the war efforts in Afghanistan.

Let the generals make the war plans... then let them work their war plans... while Congress supports those war plans with necessary troops and funding.

In other words, join to support the ranks and follow them... or get the hell out of their way so they can win this war and bring our troops home sooner rather than later!!!

BUT... first things first... let their votes count and be heard in the 2 Nov 2010 election!

What is our 'brilliant' government thinking?

Are we so desperate for money that we are agreeing to sell stakes of our strategic American supply of oil and natural gas to the communist Chinese?

They are buying a one-third stake into drilling the huge Chesapeake Energy holdings in south Texas... and there is no government or public uproar?

How many oil or natural gas drilling rigs do U.S. companies have in mainland China?
None, I bet.

How many copper, silver, or uranium mines do U.S. companies have in mainland China?
None, I bet.

So WHY the hell is a communist, competitive country like China being allowed to come into our country and literally suck our own American crude oil and natural gas out from under our feet???

This is unbelievable to me.

Maybe it's a sign of our rough, economic times...

or maybe a sign, we need jobs so badly, that Americans will sell the very soul of our strategic assets to get more jobs...

nah, I think it's a sign of the President Obama agenda to socialize, weaken, and sellout America to his highest bidders... communist or otherwise!

This is the beginning of a slippery-slope we may come to regret in the long run!!!

Hillary Is Sitting This Election Out:

Oooooh, she is a sly one.

Hillary is laying low on the other side of the globe... and acting kinda like a Secretary of State during this mudslinging and often 'bloody and bruising' midterm election season.

By laying low she dodges all the arrows, barbs and mudpies being thrown around D.C. and across the country.

This 'nose to the grindstone' blinder approach also protects her mostly-positive 'favorability rating' among voters... which could pay dividends if she runs with Obama as V.P. (or even against a vulnerable Obama in 2012 for the Presidential nomination).

Now, Hillary being overseas doesn't stop good ol' Bill Clinton from helping sling some mud and manure out on the campaign trails for his beloved Democrats. He loves it... he gets to be in the limelight again... he gets to bash Republicans... and all the while, scouting the crowds for nice, compassionate intern-wannabees.

We'll get a taste of what Hillary has on her mind when the devastation is over in November.

Just maybe she has visions of swooping in like a modern day Joan-of-Arc to resurrect the Democratic Party after Obama's control of both houses of Congress is shattered.

I can't wait to see how she plays her hand of cards she's been holding over Obama!

Tourism to Mexico is getting deadlier by the day.

Whether targeted or accidentally killed in random drive-by shootings, it just doesn't matter... either way you are still DEAD !

The killings and kidnappings along the Mexico/US border in towns like Juarez and Tijuana... and even tourist hotspots like Acapulco... have soared out of control.

There is flagrant illicit drug smuggling, payoffs for corrupt police, and violent gang activity in Mexico but especially along the border... all are good reasons to slam the border areas shut and, as Americans, to boycott any tourist travel to Mexico until they seriously crack down on and stop the drug-backed assaults on our citizens.

If we stop dumping tourist dollars into Mexico, the resorts will apply enough pressure on Mexican administrations (corrupt or not) to smother the drug rings and gangs.

But... until we stop spending American money there... the attacks and murders will continue to increase in violence and number.

This will certainly bankrupt our economy, ruin the free-capitol system now in place, and put thousands more insurance and medical personnel out of work.

We need to demand everything be made apparent, clear and open when discussing healthcare... and send them all back in to do a total rewrite of this so-called reform bill.

Quit the dirty, under-the-table dealings to buy more votes and false support !

And, oh by the way... why don't you knock off a couple thousand pages from this bill... then maybe constituants can understand the way it is supposedly going to work !

With average wait times in voter lines of nearly an hour, numerous electronic voting machines had to be replaced... often causing delays of 2 or more hours.

Many voters said they felt "uneasy" about whether their votes were actually registering in the machines and would be counted.

I don't know, BUT... how do you recount an "electronic" hanging chad?

An interview in the... uh, er... (can I say "Left-leaning") magazine, "The Week"... asked Robert Shrum his thoughts about the last few weeks of these Presidential campaigns.

It should be noted that Robert Shrum was a chief campaign strategist for Al Gore in 2000 (who lost)... and then for John Kerry in 2004 (who also lost)... can there maybe be some sour-grapes or chip-on-the-shoulder viewpoints here?


This same Robert Shrum, in the following two sentences, exhibits all the characteristics of the mud-slinging, cry-baby, and hate-filled biases of the current Democratic campaign:

"Democrats, scarred by the stolen election of 2000 and the near miss of 2004, privately worry, wring their hands and, traveling cyberspace’s vast expanse, trip over a discouraging word, poll, or prediction. Generally, they needn’t look farther than the Drudge Report, which shamelessly selects information—and disinformation—in order to stereotype Barack Obama and denigrate his prospects."


Mr. Shrum --- still pouting over his lost efforts for Gore and Kerry --- attacks the "Drudge Report" for trying to bias the headline news by "cherry-picking" polling numbers.

What???

He wants us to believe the CBS News Poll numbers?
The NY Times polls?
The Washington Post polls?

Yeah, right... and I'll go buy some Florida swampland, too.

She was just trying to fire the first volley of verbal "spit-balls" at her rivals; trying to appear tougher than her last showing... (when for days after the debate, she pouted and acted like she got her little feelings hurt when the big, bad boys named Edwards and Obama were picking on her... just because she couldn't make a straight statement without flippin' and a floppin').

Let them all throw their mud, jab each other, stab each other and brand one another with labels like untrustworthy, wishy-washy, dishonest and evasive.

Even the Republican candidates are getting in on the mud-slinging at each other.

I DON'T CARE ! MAYBE, Just Maybe... They shouldn't care either.

They should be able to stand straight and tall and let the "mud" slide right off their backs... without having to get down in the mud with the rest of them. BUT that can only be done IF they had a PLAN that actually ADDRESSES REAL LIVE ISSUES !

Forget about the name-calling and SHOW US YOUR DETAILED PLANS regarding better Border Security, improved Health Care, WINNING in Iraq/Afghanistan, ending Poverty in America, removing Illegal Immigrants, Homelessness, or reducing Crime in America.

Or MAYBE they could give us their "Yes" or "No" stance on many of the hot topics of today (abortion, gun control, universal health care, drug wars, crowded prisons, overtaxation, illegal aliens, overtaxed military, and on and on) WITHOUT going into a whole soliloquy and trying to straddle both sides of the fence on the straightforward issues.

Just TELL US WHAT your plan is, WHY you feel it is needed, and HOW you plan to accomplish it for the good of (legal) U.S. Americans everywhere.

Then step back, let us compare their personal qualities and plans... just LET US DECIDE who is the best candidate and which candidates SHOULD have "mud in their eyes".
